Demystifying Technology for Real People in
the Real World When looking for an outside consulting firm – and more specifically, a public relations and/or investor relations agency – one of the most important considerations is understanding what sets one organization apart from its competitors. From our perspective, we believe that there are five things that, taken jointly, help make Politis Communications unique from other agencies. 1. We’re not order takers. If an organization is looking for an agency to do everything it’s told without asking questions or looking for the better course of action (if one exists), we’re the wrong agency. Another way of putting this is that we’re not full of Yes-men and Yes-women. 2. We’re not PR snobs. Many agencies only do PR. Others only do advertising. We recognize that truly delivering the goods for our clients comes down to getting the right message to the right prospects at the right time. And in some cases, that may mean getting some college students to parade around in gorilla suits while holding placards. If that’s what it takes, so be it! 3. We speak geek and plain English. Understanding technical jargon is a skill, and it’s something we do quite well. Being able to translate geek-speak into definable customer benefits in plain English, however, takes real talent. And yet it’s something we do for our clients every day. 4. We have the contacts. With an active database of more than 450,000 U.S.-based editors and industry analysts at our fingertips, we are well prepared to identify the best contacts for each of our clients. This database includes business and financial media, trade publications, television, radio and cable stations, newspapers and regional publications, syndicated columnists and reviewers, online publishers, and market research firms. And in many instances, we know precisely how each individual wants to be approached. 5. We understand “Exit Strategies” and how to build “Shareholder Value.” Since the formation of Politis Communications in 1990, agency representatives have been deeply involved in organizations such as the MountainWest Venture Group, Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum, and T2M (Technology-to-Market), while also serving as counsel to public companies and private companies raising risk capital. As a result, Politis Communications’ professionals are profoundly aware of the need to increase shareholder value for firms prior to raising venture capital, going public or pursuing an M&A plan. If your firm has an aggressive exit strategy and needs to maximize its perceived value, you must map your PR and marketing plans accordingly. We understand and support this philosophy. Selecting an agency to support your company’s communications objectives is never a fun job. However, we are confident that we have the experience and expertise to help you meet and exceed your goals. |
